Spectrum Mobile is the mobile phone service from Charter Communications, the company behind Spectrum Internet. It is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO): Charter uses Verizon’s wireless network under an agreement with Verizon, combined with Spectrum’s own WiFi hotspots. Spectrum Mobile is aimed at Spectrum Internet customers, and its prices assume you also have Spectrum Internet or another eligible Spectrum service.
Updated October 2026. Plans and prices below are from Charter’s announcements and the other cited sources, not hands-on testing. Spectrum changes its plans and promotions often, so check spectrum.com for the current offer at your address.
Spectrum Mobile plans and prices
- Unlimited: about $30 per line per month, according to The Desk’s report on Charter’s 2026 lineup.
- Unlimited Plus: about $40 per line per month.
- Unlimited Plus Premium (launched July 2026): $50 per line per month for multiple lines or $60 for a single line, according to Charter. It adds 50 GB of mobile hotspot data, 4K streaming on cellular, a smartwatch data plan, and free international roaming for calls and texts with 20 GB of high-speed data in more than 215 countries.
Charter says these prices apply when bundled with Spectrum Internet or another eligible Spectrum product, and that the plans have no contracts. The Desk also reports that Charter is winding down its older “By the Gig” plan, so the pay-per-gigabyte pricing quoted in older reviews no longer applies to new customers.
Pros and cons of spectrum mobile
Pros
- Low prices for Spectrum Internet customers: the unlimited plans are inexpensive compared with many postpaid carriers, if you already pay for Spectrum Internet.
- Verizon’s network: coverage comes from Verizon’s nationwide network.
- No contract: plans are month to month; if you finance a phone, you pay off any remaining balance if you leave.
- Current phones: Spectrum sells current smartphones and also lets you bring a compatible unlocked phone.
Cons
- Spectrum Internet required: without it, Spectrum Mobile isn’t a cheap option, and some sources report an extra monthly charge per line if you don’t keep an eligible internet subscription.
- Only available in Spectrum’s service area: you need to live where Spectrum Internet is offered.
- Extras depend on the plan: features such as more hotspot data and international roaming are reserved for the higher tiers.

Spectrum Mobile vs Verizon
Because Spectrum Mobile runs on Verizon’s network, coverage in most places is similar. The main differences are price, eligibility and extras.
Pricing
For a household that already has Spectrum Internet, Spectrum Mobile’s unlimited plans are usually cheaper than Verizon’s own unlimited plans. If you don’t have Spectrum Internet, you would need to add it to get those prices, so compare the total monthly cost of internet plus mobile.
Coverage
Both use Verizon’s network. Spectrum Mobile can also connect to Spectrum’s WiFi hotspots. Check the coverage map for your area before you switch.
Phone selection
Verizon sells a wider range of phones and offers more plan options and perks. Spectrum Mobile sells popular current models and supports bring-your-own compatible phones, which covers most people’s needs.
The best choice depends on your home internet. If you already have Spectrum Internet, Spectrum Mobile is often the cheaper way to get Verizon-network coverage. If you don’t, or you want the widest choice of phones, plans and perks, Verizon itself may suit you better.
