HP announced a new generation of AI-powered laptops on Thursday at its Amplify Partner Conference. This new revelation aims to enhance the user experience and increase the productivity of those working in a hybrid mode of work. Due to sudden changes in the working mode, people are facing digital fatigue, as per a blog by HP. The blog also focused on the Work Relationship Index by the company for the year 2023. It mentioned how only 27% of the employees had a healthy work relationship, while the rest were looking for a chance to enhance their experience. Further, it stated that most people thought that artificial intelligence would boost their productivity and make their jobs simpler and more exciting.

As per the press release released by HP, the company’s President of Personal Systems, Alex Cho, said,

The AI PCs include HP Elite and HP Pro business laptops, among others. The EliteBook 1040 G11 is available with Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 processors, which include a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI tasks. HP quoted a battery life of up to 21 hours, based on its own test of one configuration; real-world battery life varies with configuration and use. HP also said its upgraded Endpoint Security Controller chip makes these the first business PCs designed to protect firmware against attacks from future quantum computers, a claim based on HP's own analysis. The EliteBook 1040 G11 and Elite x360 1040 G11 (a 2-in-1 notebook) were expected to be available in April 2024, and HP did not announce pricing at launch.
What changed after this launch
In May 2024, HP announced a simpler naming system for its PCs: consumer laptops moved to the OmniBook name, business laptops kept the EliteBook and ProBook names, and a series number (with higher numbers for more advanced models) replaced many older product names. Newer HP business laptops are therefore sold under series names such as EliteBook X, EliteBook Ultra, EliteBook 8 and EliteBook 6 (as listed on HP's site in October 2026) rather than the 1040 G11 naming used here, so check HP's current EliteBook range before buying.
