UTM Builder
Build a UTM-tagged URL that preserves existing query parameters and replaces old UTM values cleanly instead of duplicating them.
- Source
- Where the traffic comes from — e.g. "newsletter", "google", "twitter".
- Medium
- The marketing medium — e.g. "email", "cpc", "social", "referral".
- Campaign
- The specific campaign name — e.g. "spring-sale", "product-launch".
- Term (optional)
- Paid search keyword, if you're tracking one.
- Content (optional)
- Distinguishes similar content or links within the same ad/campaign — e.g. two links in the same email.
There is no single universally-correct UTM naming convention — the values above are common examples, not requirements. What matters is being consistent across your own campaigns so your analytics stay comparable.
This URL is built entirely in your browser — nothing you enter here is sent to a server.
UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and optionally utm_term and utm_content) are added to a URL so analytics tools can attribute traffic to a specific link rather than lumping it in with everything else.
Any query parameters already on your URL are kept, and any existing UTM parameters are replaced rather than duplicated — so you can safely re-generate a link without ending up with two conflicting copies of the same parameter.
