The fluffy and cute character has the heart of a warrior and can do anything to protect his loved ones, and hails from a destroyed world.
MultiVersus, Warner Bros.' crossover fighting game in the style of Super Smash Bros., launched into open beta in 2021 and later released fully in 2024, bringing together characters from DC Comics, Scooby-Doo, Adventure Time, and more. Among well-known faces like Batman, Superman, and Shaggy sat one completely unfamiliar character: Reindog. Fans had one question — who is this Reindog?
Who is Reindog?
Reindog is a green and white reindeer with a snout nose, fluffy body, and sharp claws. He has antlers on his head. Reindog was the only character in the roster original to MultiVersus rather than drawn from an existing Warner Bros. property, which is why he confused so many fans when the roster was first revealed. In the game's lore, Reindog is part of the Zanifeer Royal Family and was entrusted with the responsibility of keeping them safe. He hails from "Zanifeer," which is the real world of Reindog. The official in-game description said he is 165 years old and his real name is unpronounceable. Reindog is the sixth wearer of the gem of power.
Zanifeer was destroyed by a being called The Nothingness during an event known as "the great dimensional cataclysm." In the event, the whole homeworld was destroyed and Reindog was the only survivor. Hoping to bring his family back, he tries to find a way out with the amazing power he has gained from his gem.

More about Reindog
Reindog is sweet, caring, and protective. He may look fluffy and cute but he has the steely heart of a warrior and will go to any extent to protect his loved ones and those he considers friends.
Many people on social media and the internet were amused by the fact that an original character was included in the well-recognized characters list. One user tweeted a screenshot in which we can spot some prominent characters like Arya Stark, Harley Quinn, Bugs Bunny, and more along with Reindog.
While some fans were completely clueless about the identity of the fluffy lovable character, others expressed their desire to know more about him. Fans were also surprised to see Game of Thrones' Arya Stark in the game, and amused that Batman was voiced by Kevin Conroy and Shaggy by Matthew Lillard, who also voiced him in the live-action movie.
Whatever happened to MultiVersus?
MultiVersus didn't last. Warner Bros. Games announced on January 31, 2025 that support for the game would end after the conclusion of its Season 5, and the game's online servers were permanently shut down on May 30, 2025, with the company citing underperformance. Offline modes, including local multiplayer and training, remained playable for players who had already downloaded it, but the live, free-to-play version fans read about at launch is no longer available.
Reindog's lore — the Zanifeer Royal Family, the "great dimensional cataclysm," the gem of power — remains the most complete account of the character on record, even though the game that introduced him is gone.
