Goku Vs Vegeta First Fight
Vegeta’s first battle against Goku took place after the Saiyan Prince came to Earth with hostile intentions. Goku’s Kaioken gave him the upper hand at first, so Vegeta transformed into a Great Ape and overpowered him, nearly crushing Goku in his hands. In the end, though, Vegeta lost to Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Yajirobe working together and barely escaped with his life.
So the first fight was not a clean win for either of them: Vegeta beat Goku one-on-one, but Goku and his friends defeated Vegeta and forced him to retreat.

Goku Vs Vegeta; Who Wins the Most?
In Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball series, Goku usually gains power with every major fight and is often the one who defeats the main villain. On Namek, Goku became the first Super Saiyan in a thousand years during his battle with Frieza, and in the Buu saga, it was Goku’s Spirit Bomb that finally destroyed Majin Buu.
Moreover, Goku has generally reached new transformations first, and in Dragon Ball Super, he gained Ultra Instinct. Vegeta took his own path: in the manga’s “Granolah the Survivor” arc, he unlocked Ultra Ego while training with Beerus, a form that puts him on a level with Goku’s completed Ultra Instinct.
Even so, despite unlocking new powers and defeating villains that Vegeta could not, Goku has never achieved a clear, decisive win over the original Vegeta in a one-on-one fight.
Goku Win Over Vegeta
In the history of the Dragon Ball series, there are two times when Goku clearly won a fight against Vegeta. However, in both cases, Vegeta was not himself.
Baby Vegeta is a version of the Saiyan Prince from GT who was possessed by the Machine Mutant Baby. Goku was able to beat Baby Vegeta after mastering Super Saiyan 4, but Vegeta was being controlled by Baby at the time. Meanwhile, in a Dragon Ball Super anime-only story, Goku won the battle against ‘Duplicate Vegeta’, a copy of Vegeta made from the planet Potaufeu’s Superhuman Water rather than the real Saiyan Prince.
